I’ve decided I can’t call them all new awesome, after all if they’re here it’s cause I think the song is worthy.
This one especially so. I’m not sure why I love covers so much, maybe because I value a different perspective? Sometimes when you hear a cover it highlights something from the original you missed. This Chromatics cover is like that for me. It brings all the angst and melancholy without getting bogged down in Neil Young’s voice. It really highlights what a talented songwriter Neil is… I may love this as much as the original.
