I once had a couple of Christmases that weren’t ruined by the fact that I was working retail. That was a decade ago. Someday I’d like to be able to enjoy the holidays again like I used to. I’ve been working on a couple of Christmas music playlists, with any luck I’ll get them up before it’s all over. For now, enjoy this week’s meager offerings of songs I’ve got buzzing in my brain.
I have no idea who this guy is, what country he’s from or why I find this song so charming, but I do. Gotye – Somebody That I Used To Know.
This song is both fun and stupid as fuck, but that guy from Maroon 5 is really hot. Maroon 5 – Moves Like Jagger
I swear to blog I heard this song on Glee like last year. If not does it not seem like it should be? “love is strange, but you are stranger…”Electric Touch – Don't Stop
Then I went back in time to 1987, and found my little skater punk friends had formed a band. OK not really, but dear Kill Hannah, I see you found a few Sisters of Mercy videos and my high school yearbook. I like the look, I dig the song too. Kill Hannah – Lips Like Morphine
It wouldn’t be my playlist without some haunting aching love song. This week’s tormented bit o’angst is Marissa Nadler – The Sun Always Reminds Me of You. “I hope a new day will come and cover up what I have done.”
So you’re missing Arcade Fire?… I give you Of Monsters And Men – Little Talks.
