I think the College Radio compilation may just be the best compilation I’ve ever made. I’m enormously proud of it, it really captures a musical snapshot of the birth of alternative… when college radio stations were the only way to hear most of these quirky sounds. I came close to calling it “Twangy and Jangly” which is what Peter Buck of R.E.M. once called their sound, but it didn’t fit for all of it. I look forward to making a few more college radio compilations, I’ve got ideas already.
